Bude recorded a comfortable win against a young but determined Lifton side in this friendly. Bude were three nil up inside the first 20 mins with all goals coming from the right. The first was a Herbie Goodgroves free kick whipped in to the box which saw Simon Chadwick out jump two defenders to head back across the goal & on to the post, John Clayton reacted to tidy up from close range. Soon after another cross from the right found the smallest man on the parks head, Tommy Statton who scored from 8 yards.. Bude made it three when another cross from Goodgroves found Clayton who was left free at the back post to head in for his second. Things went worse for Lifton when a head butt from a Lifton player on Bude midfielder Adam Cornish saw Lifton reduced to 10 men just before half time. The second half was an even affair with Bude seemingly taking their foot off the gas, but grabbed two further goals late on, Tommy Statton scored his second with a well struck strike just outside the box and John Clayton grabbed his hat trick from the penalty spot.
