Duchy Premier League
Bude 0
Bere Alston 5
Bude must still have had a hangover from
their mid week semi-final victory as they fell to their biggest defeat and
one of their worst performances of the season. A subdued Bude never
got going but had the best opening chance after 20 mins when midfielder
Adam Cornish was played through one on one, but his shot was well saved by
the visiting keeper. Bere Alston took the lead soon after, a cross
from the right picked out ??? who rose between two defenders to head in.
Minutes later the lead was doubled, ??? was played in on the left and he
lofted the ball over keeper Matt Warburton and in to the net. Bere
Alston were then reduced to 10 men after a player took a swipe with his
leg at Budes Jamie Hopcroft. Bude however looked like the side
playing with 10 men as Bere Alston worked tirelessly and went three up,
??? received the ball inside the box and smashed the ball in at the
near post. Bere Alstons' fourth was a lucky goal when a mis-hit
cross from the right by ??? flew straight over Warburton in to the far top
corner. Just before half time Budes Dan Balsdon was then showed his
marching orders as he was sent off for foul language. The 2nd half
was obviously more open and Bere Alston rubbed more salt in to Budes
wounds after 65 mins when ??? slid in to meet a cross from the right and
give them their fifth. Budes only real highlight of the game was the
introduction of under 15 stars Glen Bickle and Liam Sandercock who made
their debut for the senior team. |
