This game saw the current top one and two teams in the league playing and was always going to be a closely fought contest which Bude came out on top of. The first half was very even with a lot of action happening in the middle third of the pitch but both teams failed to put more than one or two strikes on goal. The second half hotted right up though with Bude using the wind to their advantage pushing their opponents back for 15 mins. They took the lead after 55 mins when a Gary Hodgson corner found Tommy Statton in the box who headed home from 8 yards out. Ten minutes later St.Minver levelled when the ball found its way to Adam Gartrell just inside the box who put a good strike down the middle of the goal past keeper Ben Purcell. The introduction of Dan Balsdon saw Bude again go on top and was involved with Bude's second when left back Jamie Hopcroft played a one-two with Balsdon and Hopcroft ran on to slide a well taken shot past the St.Minver keeper. Bude almost scored a third straight after, when Statton collected the ball 25 yards out and shot right on to the cross bar. A deserved three points for Bude. It was good to see Kev Cornish getting his first full game this season after a series of frustrating injuries
