Sticker started brightly in this league cup competition and opened up the scoring after 15 mins when a corner came off the foot of Dan Balsdon and in to his own net for an own goal. Bude soon equalised when Gary Hodgson put a cross in from the right only to see it stopped by the arm of a defender inside the box.  Balsdon struck the resulting penalty down the middle of the goal.  Minutes later Bude took the lead when Stickers defenders and goalkeeper who was out of his goal mouth failed to clear the ball, the ball was squared to Tommy Statton who hit a low shot in to an empty net.  Sticker hit back when a cross from the right over the Bude defence saw Sticker striker Knight chest the ball in to his own path, and neatly slot the ball past Budes’ goalkeeper.  Bude went ahead again after 35 mins when a quick break and slick passing between Statton and Jason Ferrett finally saw Ferrett hit a trusty left foot shot in to the bottom right corner from 20 yards.  Balsdon should have sent Bude further ahead just before the break when a one on one saw Balsdon beat the keeper, delayed his shot and when the final effort came was cleared off the goal line. Bude looked more comfortable in the second half but failed to stretch their lead and Sticker came very close to equalising on a couple of occasions.  Sticker seemed to come more in to the game in the final 10 mins when reduced to ten men after punches were thrown by Sticker midfielder, Bude held out well though to progress through to the quarter final stage.
